Soot damage is a common phenomenon at the time of fire damage. Soot is basically a grease black particles that is developed because of incomplete combustion. These soot particles get settled on the walls and ceilings of the property and they cannot be easily removed from the place. Adopting ordinary cleaning methods for eliminating soot can even worsen the situation. Using water for cleaning soot can lead to staining of walls which also leave permanent marks and spots.   • Continue doing so till the loosen particles are completely removed from the walls.
     
  • Then use rubbing alcohol using sponge on the affected area so that the black stains of the soot can be vanished from the place. Continue cleaning the surface with sponge till the dark and oily affect is removed from the walls.
     
  • When this process is done then you have to use good quality disinfectant which is sprayed on the affected area so that toxicities and germs can be neutralized and killed.
     
  • Use only standard quality disinfectant solution for this purpose. This can be purchased from any local store at economical pricing.
     
  • White vinegar can also be used to clean the stain as well as for killing germs. Pungent properties present in vinegar cuts down the oily and rigid stain from the surface without possessing any further harm to the place.
     
  • The place is then died by turning on fans and air conditioner of the area so that the problem of mold development does not develop due to presence of moisture.
     
  • If soot odor is still a problem at the place then you can resolve this problem by sprinkling a good and preferred quality room freshener. This will help in masking off gassy odor from the place and will also make your work completed.
